YOGA PHILOSOPHY OR QUOTE THAT YOU LIVE BY: Yoga to me is synonymous with life and spirit. It’s a practice of fine details, non-linear progress, and subtle results. It’s an invitation to get to know ourselves better; to pace the intensity of our minds, emotions and hearts through attentive, intentional breath and movement. There is no observable beginning, no outline for advancement, and definitely no ending. It’s a lifetime endeavor, and a commitment to your soul.
FAVORITE THING ABOUT TEACHING YOGA: The privilege to lead students on a collective–but personal–journey of self-discovery and wellness. My mission is to facilitate healing, healthy habits, and intention setting through the understanding of personal cultures, rhythms of life, and community building. Personally, Yoga has been one of the biggest sources of fulfilling this mission. I am honored to have the opportunity and ability to assist others fulfill theirs.
SONG THAT MAKES YOU WANT TO PRACTICE: Way too many to mention here! But “Om Namah Shivaya” by Mose, Atma, J.Pool exemplifies my style well.
WHAT DOES YOUR IDEAL DAY OFF LOOK LIKE? A healthy mix of family, friends, yoga, nature, sun, beach (sprinkle in a little soccer and a cold beer here – it’s the Brazilian in me :), good food, some sort of group ceremony, followed by dancing, and deep rest to close it all out.
DESCRIBE YOUR TEACHING STYLE: Smooth and expansive vinyasa flow, with well-balanced opportunities for movement & stillness, power & gentleness, challenge & ease, sound & silence, engagement & contemplation. . . all fueled by our breath and intentions.
