YOGA PHILOSOPHY OR QUOTE THAT YOU LIVE BY: Be aware of as much as you can, try to embrace what serves you and let go of what does not, above all be honest about this difference (it can be a very deceptive proposition), and then make your choice.
Or these words of Bruce Lee: "We are always in the process of becoming, and NOTHING is fixed. Have no rigid system in you, and you'll be flexible to change with the ever-changing. OPEN yourself and flow, my friend. Flow in the TOTAL OPENNESS OF THE LIVING MOMENT. If nothing in you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves. Moving, be like water. Still, be like a mirror. Respond like an echo."
FAVORITE THING ABOUT TEACHING YOGA: The connection with students.
SONG THAT MAKES YOU WANT TO PRACTICE: When We Let Go by Bill Callahan
WHAT DOES YOUR IDEAL DAY OFF LOOK LIKE? I don't have any of these. At this point in my life, my days are all on, and that's ideal.
DESCRIBE YOUR TEACHING STYLE: Generally pretty dynamic, but I find that dynamic can be enhanced by slowing everything down, down, down--not always moving fast. Taking half a minute or more to step a leg back from a standing knee raise to a crescent lunge, cuing the minutiae of bending and balance until the back toes finally tap down with the body nearly parallel to the ground--this feels very dynamic to me, and we've hardly moved!
